My academic path reflected this curiosity: I earned both my undergraduate and master’s degrees in social work, studying people, microsystems, macro systems, and governmental structures across different societies, but I didn’t stop there.
After working as a clinical social worker, I pursued an MBA, a decision that dramatically expanded my professional opportunities. That education opened doors to a business career that would span consulting, corporate leadership, and HR management in global organizations. It gave me exposure to the intricate interplay of economics, organizations, culture, and above all, people.
Over the years, my curiosity and professional responsibilities have taken me to more than 30 countries. In each place, I’ve experienced awe and admiration for the people and the rich histories I encountered. I’ve witnessed extremes: poverty and squalor, a burgeoning middle class, and immense wealth. What I’ve learned is universal: people matter. Relationships matter. Humanity matters. And trust is the cornerstone of every successful partnership.
Traveling internationally has also taught me a crucial lesson about perspective. With an open mind and genuine curiosity, the world becomes not only larger but infinitely more fascinating. Asking why and seeking purpose in interactions leads to intentional, meaningful relationships, relationships that ultimately drive trust, collaboration, and success.
